Press Release Summary = The launch of "Credit Shield" insurance coverage is meant to
offer Citibank personal loan customers total peace of mind in respect of payments of
their loan amounts in instances of unforeseen emergencies concerning their health.

Press Release Body = Karachi - Citibank customers availing personal loans now have
the option to have the outstanding balance appearing against their loan amounts
insured through the American Life Insurance Company (Pakistan) Ltd (ALICO). The
"Credit Shield" insurance coverage endeavors to offer Citibank personal loan
customers total peace of mind in respect of payments of their loan amounts in
instances of unforeseen emergencies concerning their health.

Musharaf Hai, Consumer Business Manager, Citibank said, "Creditor protection
policies are the best way of ensuring the financial protection of family members as
they take away the burden of repayment of outstanding loan amounts in case of death
or total permanent disability of the primary loan holder.\"
In the event of death or total permanent disability of the customer, Credit Shield
makes full payment of the outstanding loan amount to Citibank by the underwriter on
the customer's behalf, subject to a maximum payment of Rs 1,000,000. In case of
temporary total disability, Credit Shield makes payments to Citibank on behalf of
the customer in respect of outstanding monthly installments up to a maximum of PKR
30,000 payable for each 30 days of disability, subject to a maximum of 6 monthly
payments on any one claim and 12 monthly payments in aggregate for several claims.
Credit Shield is an optional insurance coverage and is not a prerequisite for
availing or maintaining the personal loan. Furthermore, Citibank does not offer
insurance advice or underwrite insurance policies and Credit Shield is underwritten
and issued by ALICO.
A personal loan customer may avail Credit Shield subject to fulfilling the
eligibility criteria set out by the underwriter and by requesting enrollment through
a separate application which may be provided along with the personal loan
application form. Customers may also call CitiPhone at 111-222-222 for further
information/processing. Credit Shield strives at taking the worry out of managing
repayment of the loan in instances where events take an unwelcome turn, thereby
ensuring that the personal loan repayment is the last thing a customer has to worry
about.
